The Globe Theatre in London

The Globe Theatre opened in London in 1997 but it isn’t a modern theatre. It is a wooden building and most of the audience (зрители) stands in the open air (под открытым небом) to watch the plays (пьесы). It is a copy of the original Globe Theatre. Shakespeare wrote and performed (ставил) his plays in the original Globe Theatre but it burnt down (сгорел) over 400 years ago.
